Dr. Charles Huang Tributes former President of Wuhan University with US$1 Million Donation to his Education Foundation
PASADENA, Calif. (November 24, 2022) – On the 90th birthday of Mr. Liu Daoyu, a well-known Chinese educator and former president of Wuhan University, Dr. Charles Huang, Chairman of the Charles Huang Foundation, founder and Chairman of Pasaca Capital Inc. and Chairman of Innova Medical Group Inc., donated US$1 million (equivalent to about 7.14 million CNY) to the Hubei Liu Daoyu Education Foundation (Foundation) through his private foundation. The gift is the largest donation ever received by the Foundation and will be used to establish the "Charles Huang Foundation Education Fund" to support the Foundation’s programs to cultivate and reward creative talents.

Dr. Huang was admitted to Wuhan University in 1982 when Mr. Liu Daoyu was the president of the University. “The series of educational reforms advocated and implemented by President Liu made Wuhan University not only full of energy, but also a very important starting point in my life and career plan to go to the world.“ said Dr. Huang. “All my personal achievements were attributed to the cultivation of alma mater. President Liu played a key role in giving me and many young people an educational opportunity that never had before, so I am full of gratitude to the former president. As I make US$ 1 million to his foundation today, I wish him a very happy birthday and his Foundation a bright future with smoother development.” Dr. Huang gave his best wishes to President Liu via a video during this donation ceremony.

Dr. Weining Mao, President of the Charles Huang Foundation, joined the donation ceremony online from the United States on behalf of Dr. Huang and Charles Huang Foundation. He said, "Holding this ceremony on Thanksgiving Day in US not only expresses our tribute and gratitude to the former President Liu, but also hopes that Liu Daoyu’s ideas of creative education can be passed on forever and carried forward.”
At the ceremony, as a representative of Dr. Huang and the Charles Huang Foundation, Professor Chunmei Zheng of the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University, presented the US$1 million donation check to the Hubei Liu Daoyu Education Foundation.

Zuolin Shen, Chairman of Hubei Liu Daoyu Education Foundation, presented the certificate of donation to Dr. Huang’s representative on behalf of Mr. Liu Daoyu. He said, “We’d like to thank Dr. Huang for this generous donation which is the best gift for Mr. Liu’s 90th anniversary. The Liu Daoyu Education Foundation aims to recognize creative talents and promote creative education. We will make best use of this precious donation, making sure that it will stimulate more educational innovation.”
